Market drivers
Fasadgruppen’s subsidiaries are active on the building envelope services market in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Around 80 percent of the business is focused on renovating and upgrading properties, with the remainder on new construction. Higher energy efficiency requirements, as well as housing shortages and an ageing property stock, are driving market growth.
Need for energyefficient properties
With legislation such as the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive as well as more stringent requirements from lenders, a long-term increase in demand for solutions that enhance a property’s energy performance is expected. Fasadgruppen has extensive experience in projects that significantly improve the energy efficiency of properties and is able to demonstrate these benefits in several reference projects. Thanks to our sharing of knowledge and application of best practice within the Group, we are continuously enhancing our subsidiaries’ knowledge of the best solutions.
Urbanisation and housing shortage
The substantial need for housing will drive increased demand for façade work, especially with regard to new builds. As façade work is a specialist area, construction companies often subcontract this work. Through its subsidiaries, Fasadgruppen has a strong local market presence and has established stable relationships with many construction companies, which creates opportunities to be contracted in many projects.
Ageing property stock
The ageing property stock creates a constant underlying need for exterior renovations. As maintenance is often neglected in several areas, extensive measures will have to be taken, such as repairs to concrete structures and the renovation of roofs, windows, balconies and open gangways. As a complete supplier, Fasadgruppen can perform several services within a single project, which means the property owner can avoid having to deal with different contractors and there is less inconvenience to residents.
Fasadgruppen was established in 2016 through the merger of two façade companies, both of which had extensive experience from the industry and with good profitability. The idea was that the companies would continue to operate independently with continued local knowledge, commitment and competence - but at the same time be able to keep purchase prices low and offer the customer a safe pair of hands in a larger context.
HistoryFasadgruppen’s strategy is based on acquiring and developing local market leaders, benefiting from cooperation and economies of scale within the Group and being able to provide a sustainable and secure offering to customers.
StrategyFasadgruppen’s business model is based on a decentralised structure that combines the entrepreneurial endeavour, proximity to customers and limited overheads of the local company with shared oppportunities to achieve economies of scale and offer comprehensive solutions to customers.
